Brussels sprouts belong to the family of Brassica vegetables and therefore kin to the cabbage and broccoli. They resemble the miniature cabbages, with the diameter of 1 inch approximately. They grow in the form of bunches on the stems of plants and grow as much as 3 feet tall. Often times, they are separately sold but also can be found in the stores attached to the stems. Although some varieties of Brussels sprouts have red hues but typically they are in sage green color. If perfectly cooked; they have a dense and crisp texture with a slightly bright, sweet and ‘green’ taste.
